Ezell graduated from L. C. Anderson High School located in Austin, Texas, and he went on to study music at Houston Tilliotson University.
In 1979 Ezell relocated to Seattle, Washington. He faithfully attended Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and later gave his life to Christ in April of 1986. Ezell Green met the love of his life, Mary L. King through a blind-date phone call. They talked every day for a month and eventually met in person on October 4, 1992. On April 16, 1994 they united in holy matrimony and would have been married for twenty-two years.
Ezell enjoyed spending time with the family and often organized family gatherings. He also loved church functions, bowling, movies, and last but not least, dominoes.
