Gerald Watts (Jerry) born July 24, 1952 to the union of Dr. Calvin A. Watts and Thelma G. Watts of East Palatka, Florida. He grew up there and was educated in the Palatka School District. In his youth he moved around, and in 1980 he settled in Seattle, Washington.
Jerry was a member of the Mt Zion Baptist Church in Seattle, as well as a member of the Men’s Choir. He had a passion for singing especially gospel music. He had an entrepreneurial spirit working on cars and doing remodeling for businesses and residential.
He met Cynthia, his wife of 22 years, in Seattle, embracing, loving, and raising her three children (Mitch, John, Tina) as his own. He was a proud family man, and family was not always about blood, it was about relationships developed. Family was always important.
All who had contact with Jerry, briefly or long term, will remember and cherish his loving, caring, heart. He was a role model for young and old. Helping, encouraging and just being a shoulder to lean on.
Proceeding him in death are his parents, brother Kenneth Watts, sisters Vickie Lynn Watts and Brenda Watts. Grandparents Rev SC Dawson and Bertie Dawson.
Jerry leaves to honor his memories; Cynthia, John, Tina, Mitch. Brothers Calvin C. Watts (Barbara), Carl Watts, Sister Ladybeth Watts-Turner (Frank), all of Seattle/Renton, Washington. Brother Herbie Watts of Palatka Florida. And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
