Manuel, born in Wareham, Massachusetts to the union of Manuel Joseph Rose, Sr. and Lillian Ormsby joined the U. S. Navy at an early age. Manuel became a crane operator loading and unloading dangerous ammunition onto ships. After traveling to many different locations in the United States, Manuel was stationed at Pier 91 in Seattle. He decided to be discharged in Seattle because he loved the water which reminded him of his home in New England and he made many friends.
Manuel was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters: Roberta Peterson (George), Mary Tobey (Everett), Ruth Charles (Lemuel); brothers, Clarence Barros (Elvira), Anthony Rose, Paul Rose and his children, Cathy Rose, Terrie Rose Dickerson, Jerry Manuel Rose. He is survived by daughter, Sherry Rose Llody; stepson, Veri Jones, Sr.; sisters, Genevieve Sellers and Patricia Rose; brothers, William Rose (Judith) and Richard Rose (Joanne); sisters-in-law, Frannie Rose and Barbara Kirk and a host of other relatives and friends.
