Obituary: Mary Carter

Mary Louise “Woody” Carter

Mary Louise “Woody” Carter, aged 78, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington. Born on June 25, 1946, in Yakima, Washington, Carter was known for her vibrant spirit, wisdom on humanity, forward-thinking abilities, and a powerful and loving nature, without a discrepancy in her make.

Carter is survived by a loving and deeply rooted family: her children, Chris Carter (Jacqueline), Honeya Carter, Eric Hunter, and Kimberly Hunter; and grandchildren, Imazsa Carter, Jordan Bennett, and Kingston Carter.

Carter’s life was a testament to the love, joy, and intelligence she brought to the world and to all who were a part of hers. Her legacy of kindness and warmth will be cherished and imprinted in the world for the body of work she’d crafted thus far and will never die through her family.

Thank you for everything, Woody, Grandma, Momma, Auntie, Mary; however you served us as your family, we were blessed to have been around, and know we’ll never let your flame burn out.
