Obituary: Mildred Inell Jenkins

Born on February 24, 1950, in Torrance, California, Mildred Inell Jenkins (Inell) was the seventh beloved child of Freddie and Sarah Mae Jenkins. She graduated from Garfield High (1968) and retired from Boeing after more than 25 years of dedicated service.

A gifted musician and distinguished servant leader in the Church of God In Christ (COGIC), Jenkins transitioned from her graceful and purposeful life on earth into God’s eternal presence after a two-year journey with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Her legacy is carried on through her children Anthony (Kim), Marquita, and Michael; grandchildren (Kanoah, Keita, Meilani, Morgan, and Zion), whom she loved with all her heart; and a host of loving siblings, nieces, nephews, and a vast village of church and community family members.

A celebration of her life visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. this Friday, May 17, at Lily of the Valley COGIC – 10207 16th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98146. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Praise Chapel COGIC – 519 3rd St NE, Puyallup, WA 98372.
