Mrs. Jeannette D. Jones, longtime Educator, Mentor, Friend, Mother and Wife, passed peacefully on December 27, 2018.

Born in Seattle’s Central District on April 13th, 1946, Mrs. Jones was called to lead and love through education at an early age.  A proud graduate of Garfield High School (1964) and Central Washington University (1969), Mrs. Jones eagerly entered the professional world of education, never wasting a moment to mentor and encourage children and peers along the way.

1969 was an exciting year for Jeannette as she married Matthew A. Jones Jr., the love of her life.  Led by Christ and always supporting each other, the Jones’ raised two amazing daughters Dayo Edwards (Jones) and Ain Powell (Jones).

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jeannette D. Jones will be at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Sat., Jan. 12.  Viewing will begin at 10:00am, Service begins at 11:00am, private family Internment will be held on Jan. 13.
