Man Arrested for Stabbing After Drug Request In Pioneer Square

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Pioneer Square for stabbing a 34-year-old man who refused to give him drugs on Wednesday afternoon. The victim reported the incident to the Seattle Police Department (SPD) after sustaining a stab wound to his upper leg. He was treated by the Seattle Fire Department and taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

The man was apprehended following the stabbing incident in Pioneer Square, which stemmed from a drug-related dispute. At approximately 2:00 p.m., a 34-year-old victim approached officers from the Seattle Police Department (SPD) in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue, reporting that he had been stabbed.

The victim told police that the suspect approached him asking for drugs. When the victim informed the suspect that he had none, the situation escalated dramatically, leading the suspect to stab him in the upper leg before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders from the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) quickly arrived to provide medical assistance to the victim, who sustained a stab wound. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to Harborview Medical Center (HMC), where he was reported to be in stable condition.

In a twist of events during the SPD’s investigation, the suspect returned to the scene of the crime, running past officers who were already present. He was apprehended shortly thereafter without any resistance. Despite being taken into custody, the suspect repeatedly claimed, “he did not stab anyone,” as noted in the police report. Authorities also recovered two knives at the scene as part of their investigation.
