King County is expanding health care and behavioral health services for people in adult jails, starting up to 90 days before release, to reduce repeat incarceration and prevent treatment interruptions. Part of Executive Girmay Zahilay's "Breaking the Cycle" strategy, the initiative connects participants to Medicaid, addiction treatment, mental health care and case management before they reenter the community.
