Rapper questioned after nightclub shooting

CARROLLTON, Ga. (AP) – Two people were wounded early Friday morning after a fight broke out at a nightclub where an Atlanta rapper was making an appearance. Witnesses told investigators bottles were being thrown on the dance floor at Club 31 when someone fired at least three shots. The incident happened during State University of West Georgia’s homecoming weekend. The school had nothing to do with the rapper’s appearance or the nightclub event, said school spokesman Rodney Shumake. Rapper Lil’ Scrappy said people on the stage began arguing with other people and someone started shooting. Lil’ Scrappy, whose real name is Darryl Richards, was among several people questioned at the Carroll County Sheriff’s office but later released. He left the sheriff’s office with his mother around 5 a.m. The injuries sustained by the two people wounded were not believed to be life threatening. The case remained under investigation.
