Registered Sex Offender Brian David Miller Charged With Luring, Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl

A registered sex offender, Brian David Miller, 51, has been charged with the luring and rape of a 13-year-old girl in a homeless encampment in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. According to court documents, the incident occurred on June 26 when Miller approached the girl, who was sitting on a bench near the Meridian Playground at 4920 Meridian Ave North.

The victim reported that Miller engaged her in conversation, asking about her life and family. After inquiring about her age, he revealed that he was 51 years old. Investigators allege that Miller convinced the girl to accompany him to a nearby restaurant, where he purchased her a milkshake. Following their visit to the restaurant, Miller took the girl to his encampment hidden in the trees near Aurora Ave North in Woodland Park.

Once at the encampment, Miller is accused of raping the girl after she attempted to leave his tent. The victim confided in her parents about the assault, providing them with Miller’s name. According to police, the family confirmed his identity by showing the victim a picture from the King County sex offender registry, which she identified as her attacker.

Surveillance footage from the restaurant corroborated the victim’s account, showing Miller with her on the day of the alleged assault. Seattle police issued a bulletin for Miller, and he was recognized by two Department of Corrections officers.

Miller has a troubling history with the law, having been released from prison in April after serving a four-year sentence for attempted commercial sex abuse of a minor. He is listed as an absconded sex offender on the registry. He is currently being held on a $750,000 bail at the King County Jail and pleaded not guilty during a hearing earlier this week.

In a previous incident in 2020, Renton police arrested Miller during an online child predator sting operation. Charging documents indicate that he communicated with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old girl, attempting to arrange sexual encounters and promising her substantial financial gains for “physical things.”

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has confirmed that charges have been filed in every case referred to them involving Miller. He now faces serious allegations that have reignited community concerns regarding the safety of vulnerable populations, particularly children, in the area.
