Rev. Otis Jacob Moore, Sr.

Rev. Otis Jacob Moore, Sr. was born on January 8, 1926 in Marshall Texas. He departed this life to be with the Lord on June 12, 2005.He married his childhood sweetheart Addie Cooper of Marshall, Texas in 1944. They had one son, and three daughters. He accepted his call to the ministry and was ordained in 1957 under the leadership of Rev. C. E. Williams of New Hope Baptist Church. In 1964, he organized the Prince of Peace Baptist Church and served faithfully as Pastor for 34 years. Prince of Peace was also home to the Total Experience Gospel Choir. On May 4, 1997, Rev. Moore retired as Pastor of Prince Baptist Church.Rev. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Annie Moore; three brothers; his wife, Addie Moore; and one daughter, Evelyn Moore.He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Otis J. (Nancy) Moore, Jr. and two daughters, Joe Ann and Patricia of Seattle, Washington; one brother: Floyd W. Moore of Marshall, Texas; two sisters: Avis Smith of Dallas, Texas and Theola M. Owens of Desoto, Texas; five grandchildren: Trina Bailey, Alesia (Vincent) Jessie, Valetta (Christopher) Williams, Jacob Moore and Jordan Moore; six great grand children: Jasmine Jessie, Brandi Williams, Amira Jessie, Brittni Williams, Nia Jessie, and Micah Jessie; and a host of other relatives and friends.Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 24th from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dayspring and Fitch, 5503 Rainier Ave. S. Services will be Saturday, June 25th at New Hope Baptist Church, 124 -21st Ave, Seattle, at 11:00 a.m.
