Samira Shirazy Is Graduating From Both High School And College In 2021

Samira Shirazy, a member of the American Baptist Girls (AB Girls) of Mount Zion’s Women’s Ministry, is among the 2021 class of graduates from Henry M. Jackson High School, and she is also getting an Associates’ Degree in Engineering from Edmonds Community College. 

Samira plans on majoring in Human Centered Design, she’s also interested in environmental issues, like the climate crisis.  Some classes she has taken are: biology honors, AP chemistry, Calculus I,II, III and she is currently in Calculus VI, and third year Engineering Physics III with Lab.

Shirazy says the AB Girls have given her a community of other young Black girls to meet with on a monthly basis.  She has learned leadership skills and communication skills with them. Other activities she participates in at Mount Zion are working in the AV room and recording videos for virtual church.  Shirazy attends Sunday School where she states she gets help in her Christian walk.
