Seattle Area Kappas Celebrate 70 Years Of Achievement

The Seattle Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi will celebrate Gamma Eta’s (the local undergraduate chapter) seventieth year of service, achievement and leadership. In light of this historic milestone, Kappa Alpha Psi, one of the first Black Fraternities on the campuses of the University of Washington and Seattle University, will host a week-long celebration May 22 – 28 in Seattle.

As the chapter celebrates 70 years of achievement, they will also recognize the honorable members of Kappa Alpha Psi, such as Sterling Dover, Charles Stokes, Tom Woods, Robert Addison, and William “Czar” Meredith, who all played vital roles in initiating the Gamma Eta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi in 1948.  They will also honor the late Jacques B. Chappell, who served as Gamma Eta’s first chapter Polemarch (president).

In acknowledging the great achievements of the Gamma Eta chapter, the local members will recognize the legacy of the organization, its member and help raise the sights of Black collegians to accomplish unimaginable heights.
