Seattle Distiller Achieves Historic Whiskey Ranking

Westland Whiskey, a renowned distillery based in Seattle, has made history this month by securing the third spot on the prestigious “Most Exciting Whiskies of 2023” list, compiled by the respected Whiskey Advocate. This remarkable achievement marks the first time an American single malt has ever achieved such a high ranking on the esteemed list.

The Whiskey Advocate, known for its rigorous blind taste tests, ranked Westland’s limited release Garryana Edition 8 as the third most exciting whiskey in the world. The reviewers conducted the blind taste tests without any prior knowledge of the whiskey’s origin, age, or distillery, ensuring an unbiased evaluation of the product’s quality and flavor profile.

The recognition bestowed upon Westland Whiskey is a testament to the distillery’s commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and the art of whiskey making. Garryana Edition 8, with its unique blend of flavors and exceptional quality, has captivated the palates of whiskey enthusiasts and connoisseurs worldwide.

The Garryana Edition 8 is named after the rare Garry oak, a native tree species found in the Pacific Northwest. This limited release whiskey is a result of Westland’s dedication to using locally sourced ingredients, including barley, peat, and now the Garry oak, which imparts distinct characteristics to the final product.
