Teen Girl Who Died After Car Rolls Into Lake Washington Identified 

A 17-year-old Seattle girl, Rasha Al Gburi, tragically lost her life after a car accident on November 16th. The incident occurred at the Atlantic City Boat Ramp on Lake Washington. According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Gburi succumbed to anoxic brain injury, asphyxia, and drowning. Her death has been ruled accidental.

On the day of the accident, Seattle police responded to reports of a submerged vehicle at the boat ramp. Upon arrival, they discovered the driver, Gburi’s sister, on shore, but Gburi was still underwater. Emergency crews promptly retrieved her from the water and administered life-saving measures before transporting her to Harborview Medical Center, where she later passed away.

Lake Washington is a large freshwater lake located adjacent to the city of Seattle, Washington. It’s the second-largest natural lake in the state, after Lake Chelan, and is known for its beauty and recreational opportunities. Despite its natural beauty, Lake Washington is conveniently located near Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, and other major cities. This makes it easily accessible for residents and visitors alike.

The Seattle Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. On November 16, 2023, the tragic accident occurred at the Atlantic City Boat Ramp on Lake Washington in Seattle. Rasha Al Gburi, lost her life after the car she was in with her 20-year-old sister rolled into the water.

The incident happened around 5:45 PM. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the driver, Gburi’s sister, on shore, but Gburi was still submerged in the water. Divers recovered Gburi after about 30 minutes and transported her to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault and later charged with vehicular homicide. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
