Seattle Public Schools: 99% Vaccination Rate

SEATTLE – Seattle Public Schools is pleased to report that the overwhelming majority of its regular staff is in compliance with Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s Covid-19 vaccination mandate.

Of the 7,283 regular SPS employees (FTE count), 99 percent of staff is in compliance. This includes more than 99 percent of all teachers, 100 percent of all principals and 99 percent of management staff.

There are a few employees who are taking leave in order to complete their vaccination process in the coming days.

A total of 205 employees have been granted a medical or religious exemption.

“The vaccination rates of our employees reflect the tremendous dedication of our teachers and staff to student and community health and well-being,” said SPS Interim Superintendent Brent Jones. “Seattle Public Schools’ employees, the Seattle Education Association, and Principals’ Association of Seattle Schools, have prioritized safety so our students can focus on learning.”
