Do You Agree With Mayor Wilson’s Proposal To Increase Taxes For Public Transportation?

Hanifarh:
“No. People can’t even afford housing rates right now. It’s a drought at the end of the day, so they have to take it out on public transportation. Tax the billionaires that are in this city, like Boeing, Amazon, Starbucks, Microsoft, and hold them accountable.”
Olivia:
“No. It is not fair for those who are frequent public transportation users.”
Baulo:
“I’ve been following up on all this information regarding raising taxes. It’s something that I really don’t agree with, because more taxes doesn’t mean more money for us. If you bring up taxes but also raise salaries, it would be another conversation. But rising taxes without rising salaries is not something I agree with.”
Chris:
“Absolutely not. Tax the rich people, not public transportation. It is already expensive here in Seattle, so that is just crazy.”
Lillie:
“No. The prices are already high as it is. Some people just really don’t have the money.”
David:
“I don’t know what she is proposing in terms of where the tax could go. If it is sales tax, I would probably say that I am opposed to it because sales tax structure impacts people more. If it is property tax, yes, one thousand percent.”
