Seattle Youth Employment Program Now Accepting Applications For 2021 Internship Program

The Seattle Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is now accepting applications for their SYEP 2021 internship program, which provides job readiness trainings and employment opportunities for youth ages 16-24.

The six-week program is scheduled to run July 7 through August 17, 2021. Depending on the public health guidelines, the summer program will either follow a “learn and earn” model (where SYEP will recruit employer partners to provide short virtual training sessions), an “in-person internship” if possible, a “virtual Internship” where participants work remotely, or a “hybrid” model that combines all of these.

SYEP supports young people (ages 16 to 24) from qualifying-income households and communities that experience racial, social, and economic disparities. The goal is to increase youth and young adults’ ability to pursue careers that pay well and are meaningful to them.

SYEP now offers three components for youth and young adults: a stipend-based school year exploration and learning experience, summer internships with local nonprofits and Seattle city departments, and private internship opportunities for Seattle Promise students.

Applications for SYEP 2021 internships are now open, and will close on Fri., April 2. For more information, Visit the program website at www.seattle.gov/syep today!
