Seattle Youth Invited To Teen Town Hall And Resource Fair June 7

A thrilling opportunity awaits Seattle-area youth aged 13 to 19 as they are cordially invited to “Back to the Future,” a Teen Town Hall and Resource Fair on Wednesday, June 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will take place at the esteemed Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, located at 104 17th Ave. S, Seattle, WA 98144.

This engaging event, offered free of charge, aims to highlight Seattle’s future leaders and provide teenagers with an understanding of the City of Seattle’s commitment to supporting their growth. The Teen Town Hall and Resource Fair will encompass a comprehensive resource and job fair, a thought-provoking panel discussion and Q&A session featuring community leaders and youth representatives, as well as a keynote address delivered by none other than Mayor Bruce Harrell himself.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell expressed his dedication to the city’s young population, stating, “Youth are our city’s future, and it’s our One Seattle obligation to open doors, foster mentorship, and provide new opportunities to help them reach their full potential. The Back to the Future Town Hall is a chance to connect Seattle’s young people with the robust resources the City offers, from exploring career paths and gaining hands-on experience through the Seattle Youth Employment Program to youth-focused programming and events at the Teen Life Centers. We are excited to bring together city leaders, youth, and community organizations to help nurture a healthy, thriving future for the next generation.”

AP Diaz, Superintendent of Seattle Parks and Recreation, highlighted the impressive array of youth programs offered by Seattle Parks and Recreation, emphasizing their ability to facilitate connections, encourage excellence in sports, academics, careers, and beyond. Diaz stated, “Back to the Future is an opportunity for young people to connect with City services, learn about career opportunities, celebrate youth programs as well as discuss ways to improve them, and engage with other young people and adults in the community around youth development and career exploration.”

The Resource Fair will feature participation from various esteemed organizations, including City of Seattle departments, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound, Girls on the Run Puget Sound, King County Play Equity Coalition, Seattle CARES, Solar Ink Printing, Seattle Youth Employment Program, Acts on Stage, WA Therapy Fund Foundation, Associated Recreation Council, the Service Board, VITAES, and many more.
