w/pic The Mary Mahoney Professional Nurses Organization (MMPNO) recently announced that Frances Terry of Seattle, a well known local Black nurse and Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, has been appointed as a national Ambassador by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Frances and her husband, Robert, have been long time activists in Seattle’s African American Community. She was the first African American to complete a Baccalaureate degree in nursing from Seattle University. Throughout her career, Frances has been active in the WA State Nurses Association (WSNA), King Co. Nurses Assn., and the MMPNO. One of her greatest honors was her induction into the WSNA Hall of Fame as one of the pioneer professional nurses in the Puget Sound Area. In her capacity as a national ambassador, and elite group selected from candidates across the United States, Frances will represent the ANCC throughout the country at national nursing conventions, nursing schools, universities and nursing facilities.
