This question of respect for the profession is still somewhere bubbling and troubling in my heart because I have a son who attends school and I worry enough in regards to him having a worthwhile schooling experience, something that can make him competitive but also teach him skills and manners. Home schooling, mmmm.

I’d wouldn’t say that it’s not respected anymore as much as its not that big of a job anymore because it seems like they’ll let anyone be a teacher. They’ll let racist people be teachers, it seems it really doesn’t matter as long as you go through the schooling to become a teacher, they don’t look at what type of person you are. Like you can do all the work that is required of being a teacher but do you have the people skills that is required to be a teacher, that’s my answer.

In a way I do feel that the role of the teacher has lost its respect, because they help lead and teach the future and they’re the ones that are trying to get our kids, that are so caught up right now, educated and in society respect for the teacher has changed greatly and I feel that we could assist our teachers in a more positive way. Give them respect, yeah, I think we need to give our teachers more support and props.

I think they already lost that respect, I think society and the population should do more to support them. Their jobs are difficult as it is and I think we as a community need to step forward with more support. There was a time when teaching was a very respected profession.

My answer to your question is it has lost its respect. Because there not that many teachers any longer that has a passion for the people their educating. To much racism, you know there’s a lot going with it personally. I just think that they lost the passion for it. Don’t get me wrong, there are people who are passionate about it, about the children, but there are so many people there are just there for the paycheck or pushing their agenda, what their belief systems on these kids nowadays and that’s how I feel about it.
