Sting Nabs Child Predators In Seattle

Seattle Fire placed one of it’s own on administrative leave after an arrest for preying on a child. Andrew Sapier has since been arrested and booked into the King County Jail for rape of a child for the sting Operation Day Care. A King County Judge placed a $100,000 bail on Sapier. His next court appearance is on April 26, 2023. Back in March of 2021 Andrew Sapier, a Pierce County EMT, was caught in an undercover sting in Pierce County targeting sex predators.

Operation Daycare sting focused on capturing suspects involved in two crimes: attempted rape of child in the second degree, and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. Washington State Patrol’s Missing and Exploited Children Task Force hosted this sting.

In documents, Sapier offered to supply the officer who was posing as a child, with alcohol and drugs and agreed to meet the officer and another ‘underage’ friend, promising to bring condoms. Sapier was then charged with two counts of second-degree attempted rape of a child and one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

Four men have been arrested and are accused of sexual predation targeting children in Pierce County. The four arrested in operation Day Care as:

Sapier had been a licensed EMT since April 2010. In 2019 Sapier was involved with another child rape case from a 14 year old girl who alleged Sapier had given her alcohol and raped her. When courts lost contact with the child in 2019 they dropped charges but since the case has been reopened due to his new charges. The victim identified their assailant as Sapier, police said. Sapiers license has been suspended and cannot practice medicine in Washington until charges are resolved.

The task force has been running similar operations since 2015, which they say have now captured a total 292 child abuse suspects and rescued 31 children from across the state.
