In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded, a juvenile victim was successfully rescued during a home invasion in Seattle. Action from law enforcement and the overwhelming support of a calm father played crucial roles in ensuring the safety of the young victim. Seattle Police received a 911 call from a man who stated his juvenile daughter told him someone with a wooden stick was trying to break into their home.
The incident occurred around 11:30 AM in the 8400 block of 5th Avenue Southwest neighborhood of Seattle. According to local authorities, while still outside, police heard loud banging noises coming from inside the home. Officers broke into the home to search for the 17-year-old female victim and the suspect.
The cops found a male suspect located inside the homeowner’s vehicle in the garage. When asked to exit the vehicle, the suspect began drinking gasoline out of the container. Officers observed he had a gas can and a hammer in his lap. Seattle police broke the driver side window and removed the man from the vehicle where he was eventually taken into custody.
After tense negotiations, the perpetrators surrendered peacefully, resulting in the juvenile victim’s safe release. Once the suspect was in custody, officers found the female victim on the second floor of the home and escorted her out to safety. The 40-year-old male suspect was arrested for residential burglary and was booked into King County Jail.
Several weeks ago, an Oregon man posing as an undercover police officer kidnapped a woman in Seattle, sexually assaulted her, drove her to his home and locked her in a makeshift cell. The woman managed to escape. The authorities said that the suspect, Negasi Zuberi, 29, who was arrested in Nevada on July 16, had been linked to violent sexual assaults in at least four other states and that they were investigating whether he was involved in others.
