Sylvester Turner And Amanda Edwards Vie For Late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s Seat

Former Mayor Sylvester Turner and former City Council member Amanda Edwards have announced their intention to run for the seat in Congress left vacant by the late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee. Turner served as mayor of Houston from 2016 to 2022, while Edwards served on the City Council from 2016 to 2020. The election for the seat is set to take place in November 2024.
