In Loving Memory Of Telsia Hayes

Telsia Hayes

SUNRISE  – MARCH 1, 1936 SUNSET – DECEMBER 24, 2024

Telsia Hayes, 85, a cherished aunt and guiding light to her nieces and nephews, passed away on the evening of December 24, 2024. Born on March 1, 1936, in Missouri, she lived most of her life and passed away in Seattle, WA.

Hayes’s life was interesting, joyful, and nurturing to those she cared for. She had an uncanny ability to speak her mind without apology. Even if you didn’t know her well, her electric personality would have left a lasting impression on your life. Although she had no children of her own, in her younger years, she helped her siblings raise their children. Many of them have shared their fondest memories of her.

She was a spicy woman who spent a few years in California working in the TV industry, where she once met the famous singer Little Richard and appeared in a commercial with him. She never learned to drive but made unsuccessful attempts to navigate the store in the shopping scooters. She loved fashion and enjoyed getting pampered. She built a long career with the City of Seattle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie; her siblings, (sisters) Margaret, Annie, and Viola; and (brothers) Remus, Ersel, Richard, William, and Arthur.

A celebration of Hayes’s life will be held at dusk on Sunday, January 26, 2025. All are welcome to meet up at 3:30 p.m. at Be’er Sheva Park/Atlantic City Boat Launch, located at 9026 Seward Park Ave S., Seattle, WA 98118.
