“I believe we should limit the term for Supreme Court justices. Give them 10 years in the chair, then 10 years in their home state or in retirement. I believe 10 years is long enough to make a big impact in that role.”

“I think there should be term limits for the highest court in the land. I think there should be term limits for Congress as well. Today, the Supreme Court is taking advantage of the power the people give them. And if justices can have life terms, maybe regular citizens should be able to work without the fear of terminations as well. Why not? I’m just saying.”

“How I feel about this question is, I feel like the majority of individuals throughout the history of the courts have been white people, and so they benefit from it. Let’s put more diversity—meaning more Black people—on the bench and let others benefit as well if life terms are going to be the status quo.”

“Yes, because we could have someone who is 80 years old still fighting for laws that were important to them 40 to 50 years ago and aren’t in the best interest of our people today, in 2024.”

“No, I think the life term that we have set for Supreme Court justices seems to work because we have people who are focused on serving our people for the right reasons, and not for re-election purposes and campaigns.”

“Yes, I think there should be a limit because, just as the world was saying Joe Biden wasn’t suited to run for president again due to his aging and how it was or wasn’t affecting his brain, the same rules should be applied to Supreme Court justices.”
