The Agape House, a BIPOC Agency, serving Black and Brown young women before they become homeless, invites the community to join them for a virtual zoom time of open, friendly discussion regarding Covid-19 and its impact on the Black and Brown Community.
This free event will take place via zoom on Weds., Mar. 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
In honor of Women’s History Month, The Agape House has asked two of its own daughters, Medical Doctor Afia Albin and Attorney/Businesswoman Sara Ward, to moderate the discussion and answer questions.
The purpose of the meeting is to empower our Black and Brown Communities with pertinent information about the Covid-19 pandemic and how best to prepare yourself, dispel myths, look at options and remedies.
Topics of discussion includes: Are they injecting me with the virus? Will I get sick? What is the difference between a vaccination and an inoculation? Can I take the vaccination if I am pregnant, if I have Aids or the flu? Can I take the vaccination if I am old, or young? Do I have to pay for it? Will it hurt? Can I take it if I am a Christian? Is there another medical remedy like something I can drink or a pill I can take? Where else can I go to get further information about Covid-19 and protecting myself? Can I lose my job if I don’t vaccinate?
According to Community and Social Activist Jim Buchanan, one in every 1,850 Black American has died from Covid-19, a rate 25 percent higher than that for Whites. Buchanan note that the personal risk and disproportionality of death may have less to do with Covid and more to do with the color of your skin and the ability to access the vaccination.
During the event, questions will be taken in the chat room by Ms. Ward and Dr. Albin will field all possible questions within the allocated time.
