Do You Think That Congress Takes The Issue Of Gun Violence Seriously?

Alan…
‘Yes. The way they take it seriously though needs to change. Some take it seriously to the point of who is giving them their donations, looking at constituents such as corporations, lobbyist, as opposed to the people that elected them and got them there. If they did that I think it would be different. Gun violence is gun violence but if you look at it clearly from that point of view, people shouldn’t be dying. Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, independent, whatever, take it seriously the right way.”

Mariah…
“I don’t agree with congress feeling like they are really taking these gun laws and this gun violence seriously as a minority person it is unjustifiable. The congressmen, the congresswomen I feel like should really take this more seriously. As I said, as a minority having to feel scared not only for myself, but for my people every other person around me.. yeah they need to take it more seriously because there are too many people dying, too many youth dying, too many people dying in general.”

CeeCee…
“No, I feel it’s a big problem, but not a big problem for them.  A lot of people are dying  and no one out here is getting any type of justice, they’re not solving anything. Congress is not looking into more, they are just putting it on the news one day and forgetting about it the next.  I don’t understand it, I know if I were a congresswoman I would take it seriously especially for us Black folks out here.”

Denise…
“I think congress should be taking the crime in Seattle and other places more seriously because too many are dying and the news listens to us for a day, just another thing to be said on TV, there is nothing happening. Our children are dying, we are dying every day, congress we need help.”

“Everyone need to take violence seriously. Although it is a human condition, it negativity affects us all. Whether its wars, gang violence, gun violence its counter intuitive to the compassion human beings we naturally are. We need to find a balance in the yin yang if the human race is to survive. So yes congress take gun violence more seriously.”

Darryl…
“I feel that the congress is not taking it seriously considering that we have more guns in our neighborhoods than ever before. We have younger and younger kids carrying guns and the question is now where are we getting them from, where are these guns coming from. They’ve shut off all the borders, the cracked down on the trafficking of guns so the only person to leave it up to is the government to perpetuate the crime rate and keep it going, it keeps their agenda, without the guns there is no agenda”.
