No, I don’t think the media is making Black people or African Americans look good. Like on the news if there’s a picture of Africa or they’re talking about it, their always posting like the hunger problems or pictures of them starving. They never post the cities and how actually good they look. If you look Africa up on google, it’s a beautiful place. My friend goes over there a lot. So no, they portrays us bad or ugly or something. Not in a good light.

It varies, there are some out there who provide us with positive portrayals and then there are some who do not. And for those who do not portray us in a positive light never will so we must embrace the positive.

I’m of the young generationand we live through media, at least social media. Being we get most of our information about life from social media of course its going to impact how we see ourselves, how we judge one another, it’s sad, but it’s apart of our lives. The key is learning to tell the difference between the fake and the real.

I believe they influence the thinking of all people. Sibliminal messaging, marketing and advertising all play a role in shaping the way human beings think, feel and respond. Whether they are effective in influencing Black lives, that’s up to the indivdual. I cannot say I have seen more of one portrayal over another. I’ve seen both positive and negative images of Black people.

You really have to search to find positive images of Black people. Where the media feeds of us both, I believe a more nefarious agenda on the part of the media is at hand when it comes to portraying Black character. The images you see of Africa mostly are negative, the images of African Americans vary pending on which media outlet you pay attention too.

Different avenues play different roles in propaganda. At one time hiphop tried to show a more positive culture centered messege but look at what it has morphed into. I must admit there are not alot of positive news regarding the African American community. I would image within in the community there are a lot of positive things going on but I dont think that affects ratings. Do they do this intentionally I have no clue.
