West Seattle Indivisible is gearing up for an impactful community event, the “Peace For All Rally and Human Banner Project,” scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025. This gathering coincides with the United Nations’ International Day of Peace and aims to unite Seattle residents in advocating for peace on local, national, and global fronts.
The centerpiece of the event will be the creation of a 1,000-person “Peace For All” human banner along the West Seattle waterfront on Harbor Ave. SW. Participants will collectively spell out the message, with the stunning downtown Seattle skyline as a backdrop. Drones will capture aerial footage of the event for media distribution.
Each letter in the message “PEACE FOR ALL” will require approximately 100 individuals to form, making the visual representation both powerful and participatory. The rally will take place from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at 2130 Harbor Ave SW, West Seattle. This venue, referred to as a “retired” dock yard, is conveniently located just south of Salty’s Restaurant and north of Jack Block Park.
Attendees can find on-street parking for around 75 vehicles, with additional spots available at Jack Block Park. There’s also a paved area on the southeast side of Jack Block that can accommodate more than 50 cars. Organizers are in discussions with the Port to secure access to one of their lots on Florida SW, and clear signage will guide participants to parking options.
For those opting for alternative transportation, dedicated bike and scooter parking will be available. Additionally, the Water Taxi provides access for those coming from Seattle, along with bus services via the C Line, #21, and the H Line. These options are ideal for individuals who can manage the final half-mile to the event site.
A diverse lineup of speakers has been confirmed for the rally, with the program set to begin between 10:15 AM and 10:45 AM. Notable speakers include:
– Hamdi Mohamad, Port of Seattle Commissioner, serving as the Master of Ceremonies.
– Mayor Bruce Harrell, who is expected to address the crowd.
– Malou Chavez, Executive Director of the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, will share her insights.
– Reverend Andrew Conley-Holcomb from Admiral UCC will also speak.
– Irene Danysh, Development Officer at Ukrainian Catholic University, is among the distinguished speakers.
West Seattle Indivisible emphasizes a commitment to nonviolent action at all its events and encourages participants to actively work toward de-escalating any potential conflicts. The organization invites everyone to “mark their calendars to help send a message of unity to combat the global and domestic challenges we face every day.”
