Community Open House on Master Plan for Block Near Garfield High School

The updated master plan for the block surrounding Garfield High School and the nearby park will be presented at a community open house in the school’s library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10. Renovation plans will also be on display.Garfield High School is undergoing a $78.8 million renovation and addition. The adjacent park property will also receive minor improvements, and a master plan for the surrounding area will be reviewed by the city of Seattle.Funds for the project at Garfield High School come from the $398 million Building Excellence II Levy, approved by voters in February 2001. Work on the project is scheduled to begin in June 2006 and be completed by September 2008. For information, call (206) 252-0655.
