WIAA Boys 3A Tournament: Seattle Prep Rolls Past Mt. Spokane, 74-50

Seattle Prep had four players score in double figures as they advanced to the WIAA State Boys 3A quarter finals with a 74-50 win over Mt. Spokane.

The Panthers went on a 10-2 run in the third quarter and a 14-2 run to close out the game and become the fifth Seattle Metro League team (Eastside Catholic, O’Dea, Garfield, and Rainier Beach) to reach the WIAA Boys 3A State Tournament quarterfinals.

Braeden Smith scored 20 points, while Nic Welp and Jared Roznos both chipped in 13 points to lead the Panthers. Mt. Spokane’s Tyler Degenhart scored a game-high 21 points.

With the win, Seattle Prep will play O’Dea at 2:00 p.m. this Thurs., Mar. 5 at the Tacoma Dome.
