William and Barbara Hayden were married on July 30, 1950, and have spent the past seventy-five years building a life grounded in love, service, and community.
The couple moved from Kansas to the Seattle area in 1957, where they raised their family and became active members of their community. Mr. Hayden dedicated his career to federal public service, first as Audit Manager for the Department of the Army and later as Director of Region 10 for the Department of Human Development Services. He later joined the City of Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods, where he helped local communities access city resources.
Mrs. Hayden worked for several local nursing facilities before joining Bellevue’s Overlake Medical Center, where she served until her retirement in 1994.
At a time when long-lasting marriages are increasingly rare, William and Barbara’s enduring partnership stands as a shining example of devotion and resilience. Now in their 90s, they remain deeply committed to one another and continue to inspire their family, their church, and the broader community with their steadfast love and shared life of service.
