Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Awards 2023 Shareece S. Hayes Finer Womanhood Scholarship To Erin Howard

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Rho Lambda Zeta chapter recently announced Erin Howard as the recipient of the 2023 Shareece S. Hayes Finer Womanhood Scholarship. Howard, the daughter of Jacquelyn and Shelton Howard, is an honor roll student at Seattle Academy (SAAS) with a 4.0/4.36 year GPA. She is set to graduate on June 6th.

 In addition to her academic achievements, Howard stood out among a highly competitive cohort of scholarship applicants for her leadership, determination, and ability to exceed expectations. She currently serves as the co-president of the SAAS Black Student Union, co-president/co-representative of the SAAS Associated Student Body, and is an alumni scholar at Washington Aerospace Scholars. Additionally, she has been a Youth Community Partner and former Youth Curator for the Northwest African American Museum. Howard is also the co-founder and co-producer of EmpoweringOurMelanin, The Podcast.

Recently, Howard completed an internship at The Boeing Company, working with the Airplane Level Integration Team in collaboration with the Environmental Control Systems Low Pressure Analysis Team. In the fall, she will attend Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA, where she plans to pursue a STEM major. Her intention is to become the first Black Female Deputy Administrator of NASA.

 “We are proud to acknowledge her accomplishments and honored to support her in achieving her goals,” said Mary Ingram, President of the Rho Lambda Zeta chapter.

The Shareece S. Hayes Finer Womanhood Scholarship is made possible through the generosity and efforts of the chapter members of Rho Lambda Zeta.

“We believe that more scholars like Erin deserve support from our community. Donations to the Shareece S. Hayes Finer Womanhood Scholarship will help us make a positive impact on Black/African American Collegiate Women,” said Roxanne Christian, the chapter’s first Vice President and scholarship chair.
