Anthony Wright Named CEO Of Pioneer Human Services

Anthony Wright was recently promoted to Chief Executive Officer at Pioneer Human Services (Pioneer), one of the country’s largest nonprofit social enterprises.Under Wright’s leadership, Pioneer successfully operates 50 counseling and treatment, affordable housing and job-readiness training programs across the state of Washington, in addition to revenue-generating businesses that include aerospace manufacturing, a distribution center and commercial food service businesses.

Pioneer’s award-winning businesses meet both customer needs and bottom line expectations that help fund the organization’s social mission – to assist individuals involved in the criminal legal system lead healthy and productive lives. Under Wright’s leadership, Pioneer Industries, the aerospace parts manufacturing enterprise, adopted a performance-driven culture that greatly improved bottom line outcomes for the entire organization.

Wright had served as Assistant Commissioner at the Washington State Employment Service Department, overseeing more than 1,000 staff in 50 offices around the state. Prior to Tony’s success as an Assistant Commissioner, he was an Area Director in the Pierce County Workforce Development Region and was recognized by Governor Gregoire in the best of GMAP – a performance measurement forum for state managers. His earlier work included operations management at Puget Sound Energy, and a successful career in the United States Army as an Engineer Officer. In 2010, Governor Gregoire presented Wright with the prestigious “Distinguished Leadership in Management Award.”

Wright received a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus on Industrial Technology, from Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi; and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Entrepreneurship from DeVry University / Keller Graduate School of Management. He is also an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
