Do You Believe That You Will Be Better Off Under The New Tax Plan?

Sonia Raines…
I live my life a lot different than when I was in my 20s, then I would have had a strong opinion. Now I live to be happy and not worry about how the new tax plan will affect me. Although I know there are a few things that will impact me and I don’t agree with some of the changes, I choose to adjust, move on and live my life in joy, not worry.

Salman Wahabb…
No, I don’t think that I would be better off under the new tax plan because it is a form of intellectual terrorism through corporate settings. I am not on a corporate level, so if I’m not on a corporate level what will I gain and where would I benefit off of this new tax bill? As far as how corporation operate, but if I am in the middle class when taxes are being done I know how to make my adjustments to make the money that is necessary in the end, but under a corporate situation, I’ve never been in corporate scenario, its more of a Trump setting because he is a business man, this has nothing to do with politics, this is business and crunching numbers.

Vivian Clark…
No, I don’t trust it, I know a bit about it and I don’t believe it, it’s all a façade. So I don’t trust it. I worry about my children and grand children in the long run. I feel that the gifts that their giving out right now are false or temporary set up for next year or the year after. Just as the benefits for the rich were made permanent, those for the poor and middle class are only temporary.

At first blush, I do not think that I will be better off with the new tax plan. As it stands, I don’t have very many opportunities to write off very many items and the ones that I have been dependant on since 2013, interest on my home loan for example will be drastically reduced. In addition to that I will not be able to write off reimbursement business expenses, which I have quite a few from my line work. These are the ones that I have read about early and have yet to get a full understanding of the others, but needless to say I am not looking forward to investigating further.

I will have a larger standard deduction in my income bracket. The healthcare markets are also destabilized and I got an email saying to expect a 10% increase on top of the one that was already expected. I will also have a bigger deductible so it’s all going to be a wash. Where it will hit me is in ten years when I’m trying to retire.
