Benson Bruins 47, Rise 0
The Benson Bruins capped off a perfect regular season with a commanding 47-0 shutout victory over Rise Academy. The Bruins’ offense and defense were in sync from start to finish.
Jr Falefia opened the scoring with a rushing touchdown, putting Benson up 6-0, followed by Miles Dequier’s extra point to make it 7-0. Falefia struck again with another rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 13-0, though the point-after attempt (PAT) was missed.
Silas Fuiava then delivered a pick-six, pushing the score to 19-0, and Chunky Taamu added the extra point for 20-0. Jayden Mendoza connected with Ryan Cruz for a touchdown pass, making it 26-0, and Taamu’s extra point brought the lead to 27-0.
Falefia showcased his versatility by throwing a touchdown pass to Reggie Brown, increasing the lead to 33-0, with Dequier’s extra point making it 34-0. Falefia added a third rushing touchdown later in the game, making it 40-0. A two-point conversion pass from Mendoza to Savion Brown stretched the lead to 41-0.
Fuiava capped off the scoring with a rushing touchdown, bringing the final tally to 47-0 after the missed extra point.
With this victory, Benson Bruins finish the regular season undefeated at 8-0.
