CD Panthers 28, NW Grizzlies 0
The CD Panthers started their season with a big win over the NW Grizzlies. Offensively, quarterback Jayden Long scored two 40-yard touchdown runs, while teammates Nehemiah “Nemo” Mitchell and Nasir “Naz” Rogers also had 40-yard touchdowns to lead the Panthers. Not taking anything away from the Grizzlies, they came into the game ready to win and fought valiantly throughout.
Heir Odd 20, Benson Bruins 0
Last Saturday, the 6U Benson Bruins fell in their season opener to HEIR Odd, 20-0. Benson struggled on offense but still had a few opportunities to score against HEIR, but they just couldn’t quite get it done. HEIR scored on a fumble in the second quarter. On defense, the Bruins showed up to play. Despite giving up two scores in the first quarter, Benson never gave up and kept fighting throughout the game, managing to keep HEIR out of the end zone until the fourth quarter.
Five Star Cougars 42, Tac City Bolts 0
In the season opener for the Northwest Premier Junior Football League, Renton 5 Star’s 6U team triumphed over the Tac City Bolts with a 42-0 victory. The 5 Star team, led by standout performances from Joel Mefi and Raaziq Dumas, quickly took control with multiple long touchdown runs and a stifling defense that shut down the Bolts’ offense. Despite their efforts, the Bolts, guided by Jaxtin Scott, struggled to penetrate 5 Star’s strong defensive line. After the game, 5 Star Head Coach Rob Reeves praised his team’s eagerness and aggressiveness but acknowledged the need for defensive improvements as the season progresses.
