Central Area Senior Center To Host Booster Shot Vaccination Clinic

The Central Area Senior Center (CASC) will be hosting its final Booster Shot Vaccination Clinic on Tues., Dec. 7 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at First African Methodist Episcopal Church (FAME) – 1522 14th Ave. in Seattle. Pharmacists from Safeway/Albertson’s will be on site to administer the booster shots. Moderna, Pfizer and Flu shots will be available.

Booster shots will be available for everyone over the age of 18 who were previously vaccinated with both shots and/or suffer from an immune deficiency. In addition, children under 11 will be able to receive their first vaccination shot.

CASC will be scheduling appointments. Individuals vaccinated in February thru July 2021 with both vaccines are eligible to receive a Booster vaccine. You will need to bring your vaccination card with you to your appointment. Staff will be checking for vaccination cards.

Here are things that you need to know prior to scheduling an appointment:

• Priority for Boosters are targeted to seniors and those with immune deficiencies.  

• Seniors, born between 1915 – 1955, sixty-five (65) and/or older are eligible to receive a Booster Shot.

• However, all individuals born as late as 2003 if previously vaccinated with both shots and/or suffer from an immune deficiency that compromises them for potential COVID-19 are eligible for a Booster Shot.

• Children eleven and under who have not previously received a vaccine are eligible to receive their first vaccination. You must identify that they are under eleven when you call and provide their DOB (date of birth). If you are not the parent and/or guardian, you must bring with you a signed document that you have permission by a parent and/or guardian for the child to receive a vaccine.

• The goal for the clinic is to vaccinate four hundred persons. 

• The Clinic is one day only, on Tuesday, December 7th, 9 am – 3:30 pm. 

• The Clinic will close for lunch from 12 noon – 1 pm. No Booster Shots will be administered during this time.
