In Loving Memory Of Robie Louise Hood

Robie Louise Hood transitioned to Heaven on Feb. 4, 2022. She was born Aug.6, 1931 to Murphy Lee Giles and Wilma Ree Giles in Detroit, Michigan.

Hood accepted Christ at the age of 10 and joined Greater Macedonia Baptist Church. She married John Hood. To this union Diane and Darnell were born. Hood and children were encouraged to move to Seattle by her aunts Magnolia Daniels, Eva Hopson, Narvell Johnson and did so October 1966. Hood and children joined her aunts by uniting with Peoples Institutional Baptist Church, Rev. Edgar Bratton. Hood served in her church including Missionary Society and Usher Board. Hood served 36 years with the Federal Government. Hood ‘s community/civic service includes the Rosettes Social Service Club, treasurer AFGE Local 1170, Rainier School Parent Club. Hood was awarded 13 years ‘Avon Excellence’ representative.

Hood had a passion for and enjoyed cruising. Later in life Hood faced many health challenges, but endured as God, children, church and neighborhood families loved and supported her.

Hood is preceded in death by her parents, aunt’s, loving sister / cruise partner Verna Samuels. Hood ‘s passing leaves a heavy heart to her loving daughter, Diane, son Darnell, several play daughters, relatives and friends in Detroit, Texas, Kansas, Seattle.

Graveside services were held on Feb. 20 at Abby View Memorial Park – Brier, Wa.
