
Lyric A.L. Harris recently completed her sophomore year in the School of Nursing and Health Care at Georgetown University. Harris, a graduate of Garfield High School, is majoring in Healthcare Management and Policy. She received a scholarship from Mount Zion Baptist Church, supported by the Women’s Ministry. The Seattle Section National Council of Negro Women also awarded her a scholarship after reading her essay on Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, founder of NCNW.
Harris is on the varsity track and field team and is a member of the Georgetown Hoyas Christian Athletes. She recently placed 2nd in the Triple Jump earning a Silver Medal at the Big East Championship. She maintains a 3.7 GPA and has made the Dean’s List for a second year. Harris recently completed a summer internship at the Country Doctor and Columbia University in conjunction with The Center for Disease Control.
