Seattle To Host 34th Annual AMAC Airport Business Diversity Conference Next Week

The Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) will host AMAC’s 34th Annual Airport Business Diversity Conference next week at the Westin Seattle.

The conference, which will take place from Aug. 21 – 25, will serve as a hub for AMAC members and industry leaders for education, advocacy and networking opportunities that promote diversity and inclusion in airports.

“We are thrilled to share our airport and our region with the AMAC community,” said Lance Lyttle, Managing Director, Aviation Division, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. “We are famous for a lot of things in the Seattle region, everything from innovation to our incredible natural environment to our role as a global gateway and foundations in diversity and small business opportunities. In its 34th year, AMAC’s Annual Airport Business Diversity Conference has grown to be one of the largest aviation conferences in the country uniting industry leaders. The conference continues to bring together nearly 1,000 businesses, aviation professionals, government officials and individuals from around the country to discuss a variety of subjects ranging from how to do business at airports to public policy issues impacting the entire aviation industry. The programming addresses the diverse needs and the variety of interest levels of the conference audience, presented by speakers of the highest quality who share AMAC’s mission and vision.

The conference will feature a wide array of keynote speakers including: Earl “Butch” Graves Jr., President & CEOof Black Enterprise; Rexy Rolle,Vice President of Operations & General Counsel for Western Air; and Angela Rye, Empowermenteur, Advocate, and Political Strategist.

Other conference key events include: Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) /Airport Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) Liaison Officer, Program Administrators and Procurement Professionals Training; the Bill Walker Memorial Golf Tournament – benefitting the AMAC Foundation’s Scholarship program; Educational Sessions; Exhibit Hall; Business Matchmaking – connecting small businesses with Airports, Agencies and Primes to fulfill their procurement needs; Catalyst Awards Luncheon – honoring members who have made outstanding contributions to further the goals of AMAC; Networking Receptions; Airport Director’s 20/20 Forum; Inspiring Possibilities Scholarship Luncheon; Workshops and Celebrating Women in Aviation Breakfast – benefitting the AMAC Foundation and celebrating the successes of women in aviation-related enterprises.

New this year, AMAC is offering four tracks – Track 1: Concessions, Track 2: Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC), Track 3: Professional Development, Track 4: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/Government – to optimize session experiences by providing more than 20 informative and inspirational workshops, featuring presentations from leading industry and subject matter experts. This rich programming is designed to help attendees hone their leadership skills, get coveted insights, learn about new industry trends and challenges, gather best practices and provide you with actionable resources and tools to help improve your business.
