A 21-year-old Seattle man has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries that targeted the residences of professional athletes, according to prosecutors. Earl Henderson Riley IV faces charges related to break-ins at the homes of several notable figures, including Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell, Seattle Mariners center fielder Julio Rodriguez, Seattle Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo, and former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, as reported by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Riley has been charged with four counts of residential burglary and one count of first-degree robbery. “The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has spent weeks executing multiple search warrants that culminated in the filing of these felony charges today,” stated King County Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion.
He is currently being held in King County Jail on a $1 million bail. The police investigation into the burglaries began in early 2025, and the attorney’s office noted that they collaborated with six different police jurisdictions for a coordinated effort. Additional charges may be pursued against other individuals as the investigation continues.
Authorities expressed a desire to disrupt this burglary crew due to their ongoing criminal activities. Riley had previously been in custody and was released by the court on February 7 after pleading guilty to three robbery charges, according to the attorney’s office.
“We were able to take action once we identified what we believe to be the ringleader of this operation, which is why we have brought charges today,” said Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Gary Ernsdorff. “However, our work is not done. We remain committed to identifying all individuals involved and gathering sufficient evidence to pursue further charges.”
