It should be observed on all levels because he’s had an impact on all levels and think he should be seen as such on all levels not just the federal level but the state levels as well. Yes, every state has a choice but in my opinion all the states are impacted and everyone in each state has felt some type of way to where they feel like on a federal level he should be observed. So, I don’t see why some states aren’t going along with that.

I do agree legislators should observe the holiday mostly because they are there to represent most of the population and if that is what the population wants it is a way to show their work is being done right, not what they think or what they want to do but mostly for what the populations wants. And Martin Luther King was a really big figure for Black people and not just Black people but for everybody, I’m from Brazil and I knew about him before I moved here, so he’s big! So yes I believe he should be observed.

I do believe that everyone should be observing MLK day. I mean this is a man who saw injustices and decided to take quite a big stand on changing that and a peaceful one at that. So I think that it is important to acknowledge that not everything had to be so aggressive or not everything had to so evil. MLK had a huge stance on love and bringing that into community, not matter how you looked… Black, White, Yellow or Green Purple, the whole spectrum and that was such an important step especially during the Civil Rights movement. He created great change then but also led us into change now, there’s so much that still needs to be down and to not acknowledge what has already happened is sad.

I do believe that legislators should look into observing MLK Day. He was a great citizen to our country, brought a lot of change and made a lot of sacrifices and it should be a day that we have off as a national holiday just to be off of work.

I think they should recognize it because most all other states recognize it. That’s it, that’s all I got.

I think yes because Martin Luther King is a legend, the things that he did are not small, he actually made big changes that still impact people to this day and not taking that time off is in a since disrespectful . It’s like they’re saying they don’t really care about the holiday or anything he did for our people or other people because he did make a difference for everyone, Caucasian, Mexican, all of us, not just us, so yes they should honor him.
