Obituary: Timothy Lywelton Corbin

Timothy Lywelton Corbin

Timothy Lywelton Corbin was born February 4, 1960 in Salisbury, Maryland and grew up in Salisbury and later Irvington, New Jersey with his mother and four brothers. The family shared a strong bond in faith and traveled the mid-Atlantic singing gospel together at many churches, and Corbin regularly held bible study sessions for his family and friends. Exercise and fitness were also an abiding part of Corbin’s life; he took up boxing as a youth and became a Golden Glove champion in New Jersey.  He remained active throughout his life and kept up a steady routine of weight training and daily runs or bike rides in all weather.

Corbin moved to the West Coast in the mid-1990s and from 2008 he resided in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle where he maintained a yard care and landscaping enterprise. He became a beloved fixture of the community through his outgoing kindness, friendship and eagerness to help those around him.

Corbin passed at home in the early hours of January 20, 2025. He is survived by his son Eric Corbin, his brothers Richard, Clarence, and Darrell Corbin and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be an informal Remembrance at the Seattle Public Library Fremont Branch Community Meeting Room at 731 N. 35th Street, Seattle on Friday, February 7 at 4:00 pm.
