Volunteers are needed to help citizens understand and apply for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). No experience is necessary. Free training will be provided for volunteers in early December. Speakers of non-English languages are needed. The Earned Income Tax Credit is a special tax benefit for working people who learn low or moderate incomes. Workers who qualify can get back some or all of the federal income tax deducted from their pay during the year. Free tax preparation services, especially for people eligible for EITC and the Child Tax Credit, will be available at Rainier Beach Community Center- 8825 Rainier Ave. S, from mid-January to mid-April 2005, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4 to 8 p.m. For more information please contact Young Pham at Rainier Beach Community Center Technology Center at 206-722-1390 or e-mail: RBCTC@seattle.gov.
