
Wanda M. Billingsly is currently the Assistant Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer for Teaching Learning in the Tukwila School District. A 28-year veteran educator with extensive knowledge and expertise in working with “high needs” urban schools, she is considered an expert on educational leadership and reform efforts.
Billingsly has worked with local, regional, and national educators to address issues of disproportionality, and continued to work to close the achievement gap that exists among students of color within Washington State.
She previously served as the Director of Title I and Learning Assistance Programs in Federal Way Public Schools where she supported 28 elementary schools with improving academic achievement. She also served as Director of Systemic Interventions for Seattle Public Schools, and had a successful 18-year career in the Renton School District.
Billingsly received her B.A in Education from Seattle University, and Masters degrees in Education and administrative credentials from Heritage University. She completed the Executive Leadership Program at City University. She now holds Washington State Superintendent Certification and will complete a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at City University in June 2015.
