Air India, the Tata Group-owned airline, has revealed plans to augment its aircraft fleet with additional A350s and B777s, enabling the expansion of its ultra long haul flights, particularly to US cities. As part of its strategic growth initiatives, the airline aims to launch direct flights from various Indian cities to Seattle, Los Angeles, and Dallas.
In line with its growth strategy, Air India intends to acquire more A350s and B777s, thereby strengthening its aircraft fleet. The addition of these advanced aircraft will facilitate the airline’s long-haul operations, allowing for increased efficiency, enhanced passenger comfort, and improved connectivity to international destinations.
Air India, currently the sole Indian airline offering services to the US, plans to add Seattle, Los Angeles, and Dallas to its list of direct flight destinations. These new routes are expected to be operational during the winter schedule of 2024-25. By expanding its network to these prominent US cities, Air India aims to cater to the growing demand for travel between India and the United States, while providing passengers with more convenient and efficient travel options.
Air India is also in the process of consolidating its operations, including the proposed merger of Vistara, another airline within the Tata Group.
