Carolyn Riley-Payne is an advocate, innovator, loyal, conscientious, visionary, and resourceful, counselor, tireless, leader, wife, mother, sister, and friend.
Riley-Payne is known for helping bring others to their power, inspiring them to recognize the limitless possibilities open to them with unshakable grace and effortless style. This attribute could not be more apparent than with her work as chair of the Seattle/King County NAACP’s Academic, Cultural, and Technological Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) program, where she has touched the lives of thousands of people, especially children, many of whom are now doctors, lawyers, educators, successful professionals and business owners.
Over the years, she has worked tirelessly helping young people realize who they are, what they have to offer while walking into their fullest potential.
Her hard work with the students pays off, as The Seattle ACT-SO Program continues to bring home national winners. This yearlong achievement program is designed to recruit, stimulate and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African descent high school students.
Riley-Payne is a graduate of Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. She is married to Ronald Payne and they have two children, Lindsey and Jordan.
