Rainier Beach defeats Garfield 41-0 in Metro League Battle.

Garfield entered Friday night’s matchup 4-0 against powerhouse Eastside Catholic. Both teams came into the game with big wins against their first Metro League opponents last week, and looked to continue their winning ways.
Rainier Beach returned to action against Ballard last Friday night, after cancelling two games due to their exposure to Covid-19. Both teams came into the game with previous losses, Vikings coming in with a loss to 4A Eastlake and Ballard with a loss Garfield.
Garfield’s ‘Hail Mary’ attempt was unsuccessful due to a bad hike, which resulted in an Eastside Catholic sack as the clock struck zeros, and the Crusaders handed Garfield their first loss of the season.
After two weeks of playing no games due to COVID, the Rainier Beach Vikings’ got their first league win, and improved to 2-1 on the season.
Sports has the ability to forge friendships. Jaelin Green and Josh Conerly, members of Rainier Beach High School’s Football team, are prime example of this theory. A lot of different experiences in life can bond friendships and through sports Green and Conerly’s friendship has flourished over the years.
Even with an undefeated record, Witherspoon believes his team has incredible upside to their potential. Great news for Bulldogs fans now, but could cause problems later in the season for their opponents.
